Biography

Since 2009 Paula has been working in cross-border M&A transactions, mainly focused on real estate mandates. She worked in one of the largest full-service law firms in Brazil for more than 9 years in corporate, M&A and real estate teams, thus having multidisciplinary experience. She then moved to Gasparini, Nogueira de Lima e Barbosa Advogados, where she is currently co-head of the M&A and corporate practices and also head of the real estate and carbon market practices.

Paula is focused on timberland, agriculture, energy and carbon market sectors and has participated in several deals involving foreign and national clients, M&A transactions, asset purchases, securitization (e.g., cash acquisition, acquisition through debt, leveraged buyout, several land use structures, joint ventures, built-to-suit, sale-lease-back etc.). She also works on demands involving sustainable projects on carbon market, mainly involving REDD and ARR methodologies.

Horiuti has 10 years of experience in contractual and corporate law. She has extensive experience assisting foreign and national clients on M&A transactions and advisory in corporate and real estate laws, mainly focused on agribusiness mandates (e.g., direct equity investment, financing, land use structures). She also works on demands involving sustainable projects on carbon market.

Education
Graduated in Law from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) in 2010.  Postgraduate in M&A and Corporate Structures from Fundação Getúlio Vargas – GV Law (2017).
